The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy plant and construction machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation. The role includes both workshop and occasional site work, including preventative maintenance and breakdown response.

Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, service and repair heavy plant machinery including excavators, loaders, dumpers, telehandlers and forklifts
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and inspections
- Identify and repair faults in hydraulic, diesel, mechanical and electrical systems
- Perform breakdown repairs on-site and in workshop
- Maintain service records and inspection reports
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Follow manufacturer and company procedures
- Maintain clean and safe working environment
- Participate in training and development when required
Essential Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Plant Maintenance or Heavy Vehicle Mechanics
- Minimum 1 year experience as Plant Mechanic or Heavy Diesel Mechanic
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics and mechanical systems
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics
- Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Full Category B driving licence
- Good communicative English
- Eligibility to work in Ireland
Must Have
- Safe Pass (Ireland) or willingness to obtain
- Manual Handling certificate
- Experience with construction or heavy plant equipment

Hourly rate: €28 per hour
Working hours: 40 per week
Start date: February / March 2026
Contract duration: Long-term (12+ months)

Accommodation: Available – €140 per week (shared house near workplace)
