Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Car, Van and 4×4 Mechanic for a permanent position in Cork, Ireland.
The employer is a growing independent vehicle sales business working with a wide range of cars, vans and 4×4 vehicles.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the workshop while remaining actively involved in vehicle diagnostics, repairs and preparation of vehicles for sale.
As the business continues to grow, trainees may be employed to work under the direction of the successful mechanic.

Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of relevant mechanic experience.
- Must be a qualified mechanic with appropriate certification.
- Good spoken and written English.
- Category B driving licence.
- Good vehicle fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience using professional vehicle diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to organise and plan workshop activities.
- Ability to manage a vehicle from arrival through inspection, repair and final preparation for sale.
- Applicants must have the legal right to work in Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the day-to-day operation and organisation of the workshop.
- Carry out hands-on repairs on cars, vans and 4×4 vehicles.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.
- Use vehicle diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve faults.
- Prepare vehicles for sale to the required standard.
- Deal with vehicle warranty issues.
- Plan upcoming workshop jobs and vehicle preparation.
- Oversee vehicles from initial arrival through repair and final preparation for sale.
- Introduce practical improvements and new ideas to workshop operations where appropriate.
- Help supervise and guide trainees as the workshop team grows.
Salary and Schedule
The salary for this position is €47,000–€50,000 gross per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
Salary is paid weekly.
Working time: 39 hours per week.
The exact daily working schedule and any overtime arrangements will be confirmed with selected candidates during recruitment.
